Shipping Policy
Altitude Global Logistic Pvt. Ltd. (“AGL”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) provides logistics and freight-related services, including air freight, ocean freight, customs clearance, inland transportation, domestic and international courier, warehousing, and export-import consultancy.
This Shipping Policy outlines the general terms applicable to shipments booked, coordinated, or managed by AGL. The specific terms of each shipment may vary depending on the service selected, destination, cargo type, applicable regulations, and the quotation or service agreement accepted by the customer.
1. Shipment Booking and Confirmation
All shipment bookings are subject to acceptance by AGL and confirmation of the required operational arrangements.
Customers must provide complete and accurate shipment information, including:
- Consignor and consignee details.
- Pickup and delivery addresses.
- Description, quantity, weight, dimensions, and declared value of the cargo.
- Commercial invoices, packing lists, and other applicable shipping documents.
- Required licences, permits, declarations, and certificates.
- Any special handling, packaging, storage, or delivery requirements.
Quotations and preliminary estimates are subject to the conditions stated in them. A shipment will be treated as confirmed only after AGL has accepted the booking through an authorised communication.
2. Shipping and Delivery Timelines
Transit times and delivery dates communicated by AGL are estimates unless a specific delivery commitment has been expressly agreed to in writing.
Delivery schedules may be affected by factors including carrier availability, customs inspections, port congestion, weather conditions, public holidays, strikes, regulatory requirements, operational disruptions, and other circumstances beyond AGL’s reasonable control.
AGL will make reasonable efforts to coordinate shipments and communicate material updates when relevant information is available. AGL does not guarantee a particular delivery date unless expressly agreed in writing, subject to applicable law.
3. Customs Clearance and Documentation
International shipments may require customs declarations, commercial invoices, packing lists, permits, licences, certificates, and other documentation depending on the cargo and destination.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and legally valid information and documents within the required timelines.
Where customs clearance assistance is included in the agreed service, AGL will coordinate the applicable process within its agreed scope. Customs assessment, inspection, approval, and release remain subject to the decisions and procedures of the relevant authorities.
AGL cannot guarantee customs clearance or release within a specific timeframe. Delays, duties, taxes, penalties, storage, or other charges arising from inaccurate declarations, incomplete documentation, regulatory requirements, or authority decisions will be handled in accordance with the applicable agreement and law.
4. Packaging and Cargo Preparation
Unless expressly included in the agreed service, customers are responsible for ensuring that goods are properly packed, labelled, secured, and ready for transportation.
Packaging must be suitable for the nature, weight, dimensions, fragility, and handling requirements of the goods.
AGL reserves the right to decline or place a shipment on hold where packaging is inadequate, cargo details are inconsistent, or the shipment presents a safety, legal, or operational concern.
5. Restricted and Prohibited Goods
Customers must accurately disclose the nature and contents of all goods presented for shipment.
Dangerous, hazardous, prohibited, restricted, controlled, or specially regulated goods may be accepted only where legally permitted and expressly approved in advance.
AGL may refuse, suspend, or arrange the lawful return or other lawful handling of shipments that do not comply with applicable requirements. Any associated costs will be handled in accordance with the accepted agreement and applicable law.
6. Shipping Charges and Additional Costs
The applicable shipping charges will be communicated through the quotation, invoice, or service agreement.
Depending on the shipment, additional charges may arise from:
- Changes in actual or volumetric weight and dimensions.
- Customs duties, taxes, inspections, or government fees.
- Storage, demurrage, detention, or waiting time.
- Remote-area delivery or re-delivery.
- Changes in pickup or delivery instructions.
- Special handling, packaging, or documentation requirements.
- Carrier surcharges or other third-party costs not included in the original quotation.
Where reasonably practicable, AGL will inform the customer of additional charges before they are incurred. All charges will be handled according to the applicable agreement and law.
7. Shipment Tracking and Updates
Tracking information may be provided by AGL or the relevant carrier, depending on the service selected.
Tracking events may be delayed, incomplete, or subject to updates by the service provider. Tracking information is provided for reference and does not independently guarantee a delivery date, shipment condition, or customs release.
Customers may contact AGL for assistance with shipment updates using the contact details provided below.
8. Delayed, Lost, or Damaged Shipments
Customers should notify AGL promptly upon becoming aware of a shipment delay, loss, shortage, or damage.
Where damage or shortage is apparent at delivery, the recipient should, where practicable:
- Record the issue on the delivery receipt.
- Take photographs of the cargo and packaging.
- Retain the packaging and relevant shipment documents.
- Notify AGL promptly and provide the shipment reference.
Claims must be supported by relevant documentation and submitted within the time limits applicable to the shipment, carrier terms, insurance policy, and applicable law.
The assessment of any claim will depend on the agreed scope of service, the circumstances of the incident, applicable contractual terms, and mandatory legal requirements. Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
9. Cargo Insurance
Cargo insurance is not included unless expressly stated in the quotation or confirmed in writing.
Customers should assess the value and risk of their goods and consider appropriate insurance coverage before dispatch.
Where insurance is arranged, the coverage, exclusions, deductibles, claim procedures, and settlement will be governed by the applicable insurance policy. AGL does not guarantee the outcome of an insurance claim.
10. Third-Party Service Providers
AGL may coordinate shipments through airlines, shipping lines, courier companies, trucking operators, warehouses, ports, terminals, customs agents, and other service providers.
Their services may be subject to their own schedules, operational requirements, and applicable terms.
AGL will coordinate services within the agreed scope and communicate relevant information when reasonably available. The responsibility of AGL and any third-party provider will be determined by the applicable agreement and law. This provision does not automatically exclude AGL’s own legal responsibilities.
11. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are expected to:
- Provide accurate shipment and consignee information.
- Supply the required documents within the specified timelines.
- Ensure goods comply with applicable shipping and trade regulations.
- Ensure cargo is ready for collection as agreed.
- Pay the applicable service charges and other amounts allocated to them under the accepted agreement.
- Inform AGL promptly of any changes to shipment details or delivery instructions.
Additional costs resulting from customer-requested changes, inaccurate information, or failure to meet agreed requirements may be charged where permitted by the applicable agreement and law.
12. Policy Updates
AGL may update this Shipping Policy from time to time. The revised version will be published on the website with an updated effective or revision date.
For an existing shipment, the applicable quotation, service agreement, and mandatory law will govern. A website update will not automatically override previously agreed contractual terms.
